Girls Weekend Getaway: Solage, Calistoga
This gorgeous spot has been on my bucket list of 'luxury hotels to stay at' for some time now, and it did not disappoint. I was there with six lovely women for a girls weekend in Napa, and we all voted to go luxe or stay home. So, no better spot to spend a girls weekend than the Solage Calistoga.
Surrounded by lush gardens, the Solage offers complimentary bikes, floral arrangements (that you can put together) at check in, coffee & tea... and Mercedes Benz's.
Crazy, I know. My jaw dropped when the young gentleman explained that there were complimentary convertibles for our use during our stay. I was immediately excited to cruise around for the weekend with the sun shining, tasting Pinot's up and down the valley.
We did a bit of wine tasting in the Mercedes, but spent the majority of the time lounging by the outdoor fires at Solbar, the in-house restaurant. With outdoor seating on either side of it, which includes a fire pit and couches, there's plenty of space to enjoy the sun, read a book, or people-watch during a morning swimming class in the pool.
Their cocktails are delicious, but I highly recommend breakfast at Solbar. Their made-to-order, fried on the spot, doughnut holes are out of this world. We ordered a basket of ten, and they did not last very long at all.
One of the highlights during our stay at Solage Calistoga were the geo-thermal pools at the spa. The spa includes exceptional services like, Diamond Radiance and Nanogold Repair Facials and Cozy Chai Treatments, but the geo-thermal pools are complimentary. The spa proves that Solage is a five-star resort, with eucalyptus steam rooms and mud baths, it was hard not to relax.
Wake up early to catch the fog over the rolling hills during your breakfast, and take a ride in one of the Mercedes convertibles into the adorable town of Calistoga.
