A Destination in and of Itself: Hotel el Ganzo, San Jose del Cabo
Don’t care for all inclusive resorts? How about massive family resorts with kids running around? Not your thing? Me either!
Don’t get me wrong, I love kids, but when I need a quick vacation from work I prefer a quiet and secluded (and adult only) boutique hotel. Enter Hotel el Ganzo, what might be Los Cabos coolest hotel yet. About forty minutes from touristy Cabo San Lucas, Hotel el Ganzo sits hidden in the corner of a marina in the quieter town of San Jose del Cabo. The 72 room boutique hotel comes with a twist though, it fosters creativity through hosting artists and musicians in residence for months on end. They’re invited to turn their stark white walls into canvas’, and unleash their newest songs in the underground music studio.
For those visitors who find art and relaxation more appealing than poorly mixed margaritas, Hotel el Ganzo becomes more of the destination than Cabo itself.
The rooms are simplistic, letting the art and music be the focus of attention, but still luxuriously outfitted with Italian Rivolta Carmignani white linens. Most rooms feature a wooden tub with bath salts and a small balcony lit with plenty of sunshine. The rooms are downright sexy, but we ended up spending more time by the gorgeous rooftop infinity pool.
At first sight it seems like Hotel el Ganzo is missing a beach, a feature most Cabo hotels offer, but rest assure they’re definitely not. Their private beach club is just a one-minute boat ride across the marina channel, and features a delicious restaurant and lounge chairs.
Hotel el Ganzo does not disappoint, and the time to visit is now, before word gets out about how rad this hotel is!!
Hotel el Ganzo opened their spa last November, and features an extensive spa menu. Keep an eye out at the pool, they occasionally give out free chair messages as a sneak peak into their relaxing services!
