Cityscape to a Hidden Cove: Tanjong Beach Club, Singapore
When first meets the eye, Singapore doesn’t necessarily look like your next beach vacation. However, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t have to leave this concrete-jungle for a white sandy beach.
Tanjong Beach Club is located on the most pristine beach in Sentosa, an island connected by either road, cable car or boardwalk to Singapore’s mainland. It’s also just a short drive from Singapore’s main attractions, like the Singapore Flyer or Marina Bay Sands.
It pops off on the weekends (especially at night apparently), but unfortunately I only had the opportunity to enjoy Tanjong Beach Club during a weekday. While the service is slow, it’s actually nice to bring it down a notch and escape city life. Enjoy a game of Volleyball in their protected cove hidden from the hustle and bustle of Singapore.
Tanjong is definitely an expat hangout as I didn’t spot too many locals while I was there, but either way it’s a great place to relax during the day, catch some rays and eat some delicious truffle fries!
Head over to the bar and 'stay perky' with their house cocktails, and wait for the Singapore sunset to set in.
The truffle fries are a must, and if you don't have a good book to reach, bring a friend!
