A Culinary Delight in the Hills of San Jose Del Cabo: Acre Restaurant
We departed Hotel el Ganzo in a black SUV, making our way up a dusty dirt road with moon lit mountains out the windows. I had no idea what to expect of our hotel’s restaurant recommendation.
When we arrived a pathway lightly lit and lined with palm trees led us to an uber modern entry way.
Cleverly named Acre, the restaurant sits on 25 acres of farmland adjacent to our hotel in San Jose del Cabo. Staying true to its roots, the interior and the food are sourced locally. The shade structures that cover the dining area are local palo de arco trees, and the furniture, lighting and dishware were all made in Baja. The food is from their farm or local suppliers, but they assure guests it doesn’t travel far to your plate.
The food speaks for itself, it is absolutely delicious! Executive Chefs Kevin Luzande & Oscar Torres have experience running similar restaurants in NY, LA and Europe, and their experience shines through their ingredients. Start with the Country Toast and Squash Agnolotti Pasta, and finish with the Whole Roasted Hen, and you’ll see what I mean.
Thanks to Vancouver natives, Stuart McPherson & Cameron Watt, Baja has a new kind of dining experience to uphold.
Grab a cocktail on the rooftop space above the bar before or after dinner, and enjoy live music on the weekends!
